The Studio · Since 2024
One founder, a focused team, and a refusal to grow past six firms a year.
adnah is an independent studio. Not an agency, not a consultancy, not a software company in disguise. We build the operating model behind AI-native legal practice - end to end, in firms nimble enough to actually change.
Founder
Raghav R Handa
Practising lawyer across India, the UAE, and Singapore. Builder of the MATTER Method. A strong legal background paired with a genuine passion for technology - writes about AI-native legal practice at raghavrhanda.com.

- Role
- Founder & driver of the studio
The studio started, as most useful things do, out of frustration. Seven years of practice across three jurisdictions produced a slow accumulation of insight about which parts of legal work are irreducible and which parts are ceremony inherited from an earlier century.
Most of it turns out to be the second kind. The billable hour, the associate pyramid, the ten-page engagement letter - these are not the nature of law. They are the nature of one specific business model that has run unquestioned for long enough to feel structural.
adnah exists to build the alternative - not in white papers, not on stage, but inside actual practices, with the lawyers who run them, in weeks rather than years. Raghav drives every engagement personally, backed by a focused team that turns the thinking into shipped work.

The Team
One founder in the driver's seat. A strong team behind him.
Raghav leads every transformation personally - the strategy, the client relationship, the judgment calls. Behind him is a focused team of researchers, engineers, and legal operators who turn that judgment into the templates, playbooks, and agents that actually ship. Contained by design, not by constraint: every person on the team works directly on the practices we transform, with no layer of account managers in between.
How we work
Four working beliefs the studio is built on.
These are not marketing lines. They shape the calendar, the client list, and the size of the studio.
- 01
Deliberately contained.
We are not scaling toward a hundred-person consultancy. One founder, a focused team, no anonymous account managers. Depth of involvement is the product.
- 02
Practising lawyers, not vendors.
The studio is founded and driven by a lawyer who still runs a live practice. The advice we give is advice we have to eat.
- 03
Written over verbal.
Every transformation produces a written map. Every principle we hold is on the site. If we cannot articulate it in prose, we do not believe it hard enough yet.
- 04
Long calendars, quiet weeks.
We batch transformations. There are weeks with no client meetings by design - that is when the frameworks improve. A studio that is always in a call is a studio that stops thinking.
The Studio Timeline
A short history, honestly kept.
2019
The problem gets named
Raghav starts practising across three jurisdictions and runs, at scale, into the operational chaos every firm knows: matters half-remembered, deadlines half-managed, pricing half-guessed. The primitives start showing up on whiteboards.
2022
The MATTER framework
The six primitives - Matter, Actions, Time, Team, Evidence, Research - solidify into a written framework, first for private use inside the practice, then shared with peers running comparable firms.
2024
The studio opens
adnah launches as an independent studio to build the framework inside other firms. First cohort is three practices across Singapore, India and the UAE.
2026
Six per year, held
The cap on transformations holds at six firms per year. The team behind the founder grows to match the workload, without diluting the model.
Working with the studio
If the timing is right, the door is open.
We open the calendar cohort by cohort. Applications are read as they arrive. If the fit is wrong we say so within a week.
