Intellectual property legal support
Pipeline-ledPatent claim charting
A claim chart is a structured comparison done patiently: each limitation against the evidence, with the citation that supports the mapping. We build the chart; the infringement or invalidity conclusion stays with you.
- Published price
- $800–3,000 / chart
- Turnaround
- 48 hours
- Without us
- $10,000–50,000
Fixed per unit, not hourly. No minimum engagement. Quoted before we start.
How we actually produce this
The pipeline produces 70 to 90 percent of the work. A lawyer resolves every exception it flags rather than reviewing everything it got right.
The pipeline is ours. It was built for legal work rather than adapted from a general product, which is why the price for this service is a published number instead of an hourly estimate.
- Why this work leaves a firm
- Charts are the most labour-intensive document in patent litigation, and firms bill $10,000 to $50,000 to produce one.
- What our pipeline does
- We map every claim element to the accused instrumentality or the prior art reference, with a pin cite for every cell. Gap detection is the priority output: we flag every element where the evidence is thin, inferred, or absent, rather than papering over it.
- Where a lawyer steps in
- Claim construction and every element interpretation.
- What it changes
- The gap report is the point. You learn which elements are weak before contentions are served rather than after they are challenged.
What you receive
A limitation-by-limitation claim chart mapping the patent claims against the accused product or art.
Priced per chart by claim count and technical complexity. Multi-reference invalidity combinations are priced per combination.
- A limitation-by-limitation chart in the standard two-column or three-column format
- Each limitation parsed into its discrete elements, including the ones buried in a long clause
- Evidence mapped per element with a precise citation: column and line, page, or source document
- Claim construction positions noted where the mapping depends on a disputed term
- Gaps identified explicitly where the evidence does not reach a limitation
- A supporting evidence appendix, indexed to the chart
What it costs, and what it replaces
Both figures are published ranges for the same unit of work. Ours is fixed before we start; if our process gets faster, that is our gain and your price does not move.
How engagements are structured →- Adnah Legal
- $800–3,000 / chart

Roughly 94% lower at the midpoint of each published range.
How the work runs
01
Claim parsing
Each asserted claim is parsed into discrete limitations and elements before any mapping starts, because charts that treat a long clause as one limitation hide exactly where the argument is weak.
02
Evidence collection
Technical documentation, source materials, manuals and specifications are collected and indexed, with the best available evidence identified for each element.
03
Element mapping
Each element is mapped to the evidence with a precise citation. Where the mapping depends on a construction of a disputed term, that dependency is stated in the chart rather than assumed away.
04
Gap pass and review
We mark every element the evidence does not reach, and a reviewer checks each cited passage against the source before delivery.
What we need from you
- The patent and the claims to be charted
- The accused product materials or the prior art references
- Any claim construction positions already taken or ordered
- The format your court, client or filing requires
What we check before delivery
- Every citation is verified at the source page, line or column
- Every claim element is either mapped or affirmatively marked as a gap; nothing is left blank
- Construction dependencies are stated explicitly rather than embedded silently in the mapping
- Charts are checked against the claim text word by word so no limitation is dropped
When firms send us this
- Pre-suit infringement analysis across a set of candidate targets
- Invalidity charts for IPR petitions or invalidity contentions
- Responding to an opponent's contentions with a chart-by-chart rebuttal
- Portfolio evaluation before an acquisition or a licensing campaign
Questions about claim charting
Do you opine on infringement or validity?
No. We produce the structured comparison with the evidence cited; the infringement or invalidity conclusion is the engaging attorney's legal judgment.
Do you have technical capability in our field?
Tell us the technology and we will say plainly whether it is within what we can chart to a standard you would file. Where it is not, we say so rather than producing a chart that needs rebuilding.
Can you chart multiple references in combination?
Yes. Combination charts for obviousness are priced per combination, with the motivation-to-combine evidence charted separately.
