Cross-practice legal support
Discovery drafting
We draft a complete, matter-specific discovery set from the pleadings and your theory of the case: interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission, written to the jurisdiction's limits and formatted to your template. It arrives as a first draft for your review, not a filing.
- Published price

Fixed per unit, not hourly. No minimum engagement. Quoted before we start.
What you receive
A full set of interrogatories, requests for production and admissions, tailored to the matter.
- Interrogatories drafted to the matter and within the jurisdiction's numerical limit, subparts counted
- Requests for production organised by custodian, source and subject matter
- Requests for admission drafted to narrow issues rather than to invite boilerplate denials
- Definitions and instructions conformed to your firm's standard preamble
- A coverage memo mapping each request to the element or defence it is aimed at
- A parallel objections outline for the responses you can expect, where you ask for one
What it costs, and what it replaces
Both figures are published ranges for the same unit of work. Ours is fixed before we start; if our process gets faster, that is our gain and your price does not move.

How the work runs
01
Read the file
We read the pleadings, the scheduling order and any discovery already exchanged, and list the elements and defences the set needs to reach. Discovery drafted without that map is how firms end up with forty requests that prove nothing.
02
Draft to the limits
We draft to the jurisdiction's numerical limits with subparts counted the way the local rule counts them, so the set does not have to be cut back after you have already committed to it.
03
Target the elements
Each request is written against a specific element, defence or anticipated argument, and the coverage memo records which. Requests that reach nothing get cut before they reach you.
04
Format and deliver
The set is formatted to your template with your definitions and instructions, and delivered as an editable first draft for your review, revision and signature.
What we need from you
- The operative pleadings and any case management or scheduling order
- Your theory of the case, in as much or as little detail as you want to give
- Your firm's discovery template and standard definitions
- Any prior discovery already served, so the set does not duplicate it
What we check before delivery
- Numerical limits and subpart counting are checked against the governing rule for that court
- Every request is traced to an element or defence in the coverage memo
- Definitions are checked for circularity and for terms used but never defined
- The set is read against prior discovery so requests are not served twice
When firms send us this
- A discovery deadline that arrived while the team was in trial preparation
- A new matter where the set has to go out before anyone has time to read the file properly
- High-volume practices that serve structurally similar sets across many matters
- Overflow drafting when an associate is out and the calendar does not care
Questions about discovery drafting
Is this a filing-ready document?
It is a complete first draft for your review, revision and signature. We are a legal support provider working under your supervision, so what goes out under your name is always your document and your professional judgment.
Do you know our jurisdiction's limits?
We draft to the limits of the court you name, including how that court counts subparts. Tell us the venue and the scheduling order, and the set comes back within the constraints you actually have.
Can you work from our firm's template?
Yes, and we prefer it. Send the template and standard definitions once, and every set we draft for you afterwards arrives in your house style.
