What you receive
Documents coded for responsiveness, privilege and issue tags, ready for attorney sign-off.
Volume brackets apply above 25,000 documents. Sets with heavy foreign-language content, poor OCR, or unusual file types are quoted separately after we have seen a sample.

How the work runs

Scope and criteria
We agree the coding manual in writing before touching a document: responsiveness definition, issue tags, privilege criteria, and how family members and duplicates are handled. Where you do not have a manual, we draft one from your requests and send it for your approval.

Calibration pass
We code a calibration set of 100 to 200 documents and send it to you before going further. You confirm or correct the calls, and the corrections are folded back into the manual. This is the step that stops a disagreement about scope from becoming a re-review of 40,000 documents.

Full first pass
The set is processed through our pipeline for classification and near-duplicate grouping, and every document is reviewed against the approved manual. Anything the pipeline marks as low confidence, and every privilege candidate, is read by a qualified lawyer rather than coded automatically.

QC and delivery
We pull a statistical sample, score it, and deliver the coded log with the exception list and the sample report attached. You run your own spot check against the same sample and we reconcile any disagreement before the set is considered final.

What we check before delivery
- Every privilege candidate gets a second-level read before it appears on the log
- Family and near-duplicate groups are checked for coding consistency, so related documents do not split
- A statistical QC sample is scored on every job and the agreement rate is published to you
- No document is delivered as coded without a recorded reason for the call

Questions about first-pass document review
Do you work inside our review platform?
Yes. We work in your Relativity, Everlaw, DISCO or similar instance, under named user accounts you create and control, so the audit trail stays inside your system. If you do not run a platform, we work from a secure transfer and return a structured log.
Who makes the final privilege call?
You do. We flag privilege candidates with the basis and the supporting facts, and the engaging attorney makes the determination. We do not assert or waive privilege on your behalf, and nothing we code is a legal determination.
How accurate is a first pass at this price?
We publish the agreement rate from a scored QC sample on every job rather than asking you to take accuracy on faith. Where the rate falls below the standard we agreed at the start, we re-review the affected population at our cost.
