341 meeting preparation

Trustees ask about the same things: the transfer in the look-back period, the asset valued suspiciously low, the income that does not match the return. We read the filed set the way the trustee will and tell you what is coming.

What you receive

A prep memo covering likely trustee questions, with the schedules cross-checked for consistency.

  • A prep memo listing the questions the filed documents invite, with the entry that prompts each
  • Inconsistencies between schedules, SOFA, pay records and returns, flagged with both references
  • Transfers and payments in the look-back period summarised with their likely characterisation questions
  • Asset valuations that look low or unsupported, identified with what would support them
  • A document request list of what the trustee is likely to ask for at or before the meeting
  • A short client-facing briefing sheet for you to review and use, if you want one

What it costs, and what it replaces

Both figures are published ranges for the same unit of work. Ours is fixed before we start; if our process gets faster, that is our gain and your price does not move.

How the work runs

  1. 01

    Read as the trustee

We read the filed set looking for what a trustee looks for, rather than re-checking it as the preparer. Different question, different findings.

  2. 02

    Cross-document conflicts

Schedules, SOFA, pay records and returns are compared against each other, and every conflict is listed with both references so it can be resolved or explained before the meeting.

  3. 03

    Look-back review

Transfers and payments in the applicable period are summarised with the characterisation issue each raises, because those are the questions that turn into adversary proceedings.

  4. 04

    Anticipated requests

We list the documents the trustee is likely to request, so they can be assembled in advance rather than after a continuance.

What we need from you

  • The filed schedules and SOFA
  • The supporting documents already provided to the trustee
  • The chapter and the district, since local trustee practice varies
  • The meeting date

What we check before delivery

  • Every flagged inconsistency cites both documents and the specific line in each
  • Valuation concerns state what supporting material would resolve them
  • Look-back analysis is computed from the filing date, not estimated
  • The memo distinguishes documented facts from questions raised by the documents

When firms send us this

  • Meeting calendars where a dozen cases are scheduled in one morning
  • Cases with transfers or business income likely to draw questions
  • Files prepared by someone else that you are appearing on
  • Continued meetings where the trustee has already asked for more

Questions about 341 meeting preparation

  • Do you appear at the meeting?

No. We are a support provider; appearances are yours. What we produce is the preparation material behind them.

  • Can you prepare the client directly?

No. We can draft a briefing sheet for your review and use with the client, but we do not communicate with your clients.

  • Do you know local trustee practice?

Tell us the district and trustee and we take known local practice into account. Where we do not have a basis for a district-specific view, we say so rather than inventing one.
